Pichaikool Ranked In Arnold Palmer Cup’s International Top 6

STARKVILLE – Rated the 15th best collegiate golfer by Golfstat following a strong fall campaign, Mississippi State men's golf junior Peng Pichaikool once again finds himself among the nation's best.
On Thursday, the Bangkok, Thailand, native was ranked fourth among international players on the fall Arnold Palmer Cup rankings.
The top six players in the spring's final ranking from both the international and United States teams will be selected to play in the Arnold Palmer Cup, June 7-9, 2019, at the Alotian Club in Roland, Arkansas.
Should he hold the ranking, Pichaikool would qualify for another prestigious event after already playing in a couple of big tournaments this fall. In October, Pichaikool played for a spot in the Masters at the Asia-Pacific Amateur against Asia's top amateur talent, and then qualified for the Sun Bowl All-America Golf Classic in November.
The ranking combines several elements, including Golfstat's NCAA Player Ranking, bonuses for wins and high finishes and penalties for poor finishes and a strength of schedule component. Pichaikool is rated 15th by Golfstat.
The junior put together an impressive fall campaign that included three top 10 finishes in as many tournaments for MSU. Pichaikool also compiled a 69.22 stroke average and grabbed a runner-up finish at the Louisville Cardinal Challenge in October to begin the 2018-19 campaign, leading MSU to a pair of top 50 finishes.
Pichaikool was also ranked fourth in the first Arnold Palmer Cup ranking for the 2017-18 season before missing the cut on the final list.
