Men’s Golf Pens Pair For 2019 Class

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State men's golf coach Dusty Smith announced Wednesday the signing of two golfers for the 2019 class.
Mississippi native Hunter Logan of Steens and William Wann of Mountain Brook, Alabama, are the newest additions to the Bulldog family.
"This is a huge day for our program as we welcome Hunter Logan and William Wann into the Mississippi State golf family," MSU men's golf coach Dusty Smith said. "We were looking for two young men who have the right character and the right make up to represent our golf program. Hunter and William have a burning desire to be great in everything that they do and are committed to the process of helping build a championship program at Mississippi State."
Logan, a three-time 4A State Champion out of Caledonia High School, was named the 2017 Mississippi Junior Golfer of the Year after winning the 2017 Mississippi Junior Amateur. Logan also is a three-time Coca-Cola Tour and Pros of Tomorrow Champion.
"It is very important to us as a program to recruit the top players in the State of Mississippi," Smith said. "Hunter Logan will take pride in carrying the Mississippi State bag."
Wann is the second player recruited by Smith to come from Mountain Brook High School. In his inaugural 2018 class, Smith penned now-freshman Ford Clegg. Clegg played in all four tournaments for MSU this fall and went into the break with a tied-for-11th finish at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational.
"William is a gritty competitor who has a lot of self-belief and confidence," Smith said. "He is the leader on his state-champion high school team and has been successful at every level of junior golf. He knows how to win and will bring a level of competitiveness and belief that would be valuable to any locker room."
Wann also is the No. 4 ranked player in the state of Alabama and tied a state record with an 11-under 133 to win the 2018 7A State Championship as a junior.
