STARKVILLE – Tiger Woods. Matt Kuchar. Webb Simpson. Davis Love III.
From November 19-20, Mississippi State junior Peng Pichaikool will look to add his name to a prestigious list of Sun Bowl All-America Golf Classic champions.
Pichaikool will face off against a selection of 29 of college golf's best players. The event will begin Sunday, November 18, with the Titleist Long Drive competition and the PING Putting Contest.
"I'm feeling ready for this tournament, Pichaikool said. "I have learned a lot from the last two tournaments on what I can improve on. I love to play in tournaments like this where there are quality fields. It will be fun, and I will do my best."
The first two rounds of the Sun Bowl Marathon All-America Golf Classic will take place on Monday, November 19, followed by a final round the next day at El Paso Country Club in El Paso, Texas. Live results will be available via Golfstat.
Pichaikool is currently ranked as the 56th best amateur golfer by World Amateur Golf Ranking, which qualified him for Sun Bowl All-America Golf Classic. The Bangkok, Thailand, native is ranked 17th among all college golfers by Golfstat, third among Southeastern Conference competitors. Golfweek currently rates him the 23rd best collegiate player and fifth in the SEC.
The junior starlet finished MSU's fall season with a tied-for-seventh finish at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational. He collected three top 10s during the fall, the best being a runner-up finish at the Louisville Cardinal Challenge.
Pichaikool missed MSU's third event at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate to compete at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship alongside the continent's best amateur golfers. He made the cut and finished tied for 30th out of 120 players.
