NEW YORK – No. 22 Mississippi State's offensive line was named to the Joe Moore Award's midseason honor roll Tuesday. The Joe Moore Award is named in honor of Joe Moore, who was a long time offensive line coach at the collegiate level.
Â
The Bulldogs were one of 14 offensive lines honored by the Joe Moore Foundation for Teamwork. Semifinalists for the Joe Moore Award will be announced on Nov. 20 and finalists will be revealed on Dec. 4. Selection of the 2018 Joe Moore Award winner will be made public after a surprise visit to the winning university's campus in late December.
Â
In addition to MSU, the teams on the honor roll include No. 1 Alabama, Appalachian State, Army, Boston College, No. 8 Georgia, No. 14 Kentucky, Memphis, No. 16 NC State, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 9 Oklahoma, No. 12 Oregon, No. 7 Texas, and No. 23 Wisconsin.

Five Things To Know About MSU's Offensive Line
1. MSU is the only school in the SEC with two players in the top 10 in rushing yards per game: quarterback Nick Fitzgerald (102.6) is fourth, and running back Kylin Hill is sixth (79).
Â
2. The Bulldogs are the SEC's top rushing offense (240.7), with a league leading "Quality Rush" percentage (rush either results in a first down or greatly increases the chances of gaining a first down on the next play) of 62.9%, which is 13.8% better than the league average.
Â
3. Led by Rimington Trophy candidate center Elgton Jenkins, State's offensive line has helped pave the way for three 300-yard rushing games (the most in the SEC and the second most in the Power 5).
Â
4. MSU's offense is tops in the SEC in yards per rush at 6.0. The Bulldogs most recently averaged 6.1 yards per rush against then-No. 8 Auburn on Oct. 6 and finished with 349 yards. The 349 yards were MSU's most in an SEC game since grounding out 457 at Ole Miss on Nov. 26, 2016.
Â
5. Four different Bulldogs have combined for seven individual 100-yard rushing games in 2018, led by Fitzgerald who has eclipsed the century mark three times. MSU has had multiple 100-yard rushers in three games this season.
