MSU No. 2 In Coaches Poll; DawgTalk With Vic Schaefer Wednesday

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Another day and another No. 2 ranking for Mississippi State women's basketball.
The Bulldogs rose one spot in Tuesday's USA Today Coaches Poll, matching last year's National Finalist squad for its highest ranking in the poll.
State earned its 64th-straight week in the poll after defeating then-No. 7 Tennessee 71-52 in Knoxville on Sunday. The win, MSU's second-straight in Thompson-Boling Arena, matched the best start in program history at 20-0. It also equaled last season's team for the best SEC start in school annals at 6-0.
The Bulldogs and top-ranked UConn are the only teams in the nation without a loss this season. State is one of six SEC squads in this week's poll. South Carolina and Tennessee join MSU in the Top 10 at Nos. 7 and 10, respectively. Missouri comes in at No. 11, while Texas A&M sits at 15th and Georgia at No. 20.
Mississippi State returns to Humphrey Coliseum Thursday, hosting Florida at 7:30 p.m. in its "We Back Pat" game. The contest, which will be televised on SEC Network, will also be Victoria Vivians Senior Night. Fans who wear a crown can get a free ticket to the game.
