- On Saturday, Adam Frazier was the Pirates' recipient of the Baseball Alumni Heart and Hustle Award, given to a player from each team "who demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the game."
- Brandon Woodruff continues to impress as a new face in the MLB. On Saturday, the Brewers' starter allowed just one run on two hits over 7.0 innings to give Milwaukee a chance to beat the Nationals. Through four starts, Woodruff has struck out 20 over 23.2 innings and allowed just four runs.
- Dakota Hudson allowed just one run over 6.0 innings pitched on Wednesday to lead Triple A Memphis to a 4-1 win in Game One of the Pacific Coast League American Conference Championship Series.
- As Class A Fort Myers Miracle's season has come to a close, Brent Rooker finished his first pro season batting .280 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs, three Florida State League player of the week honors and a Minnesota Twins Minor League player of the week honor. According to MLB Pipline, Rooker is the 14th ranked Twins prospect.
- Austin Sexton has not allowed a run in five consecutive appearances for Class A Peoria Chiefs.
- Mitch Moreland celebrated his 32nd birthday in a six-hour, 19-inning battle against Toronto spanning from Tuesday to Wednesday.
