Anagnost Adds Two To Soccer Staff; Bulldogs Ready For Exhibition At Florida

STARKVILLE, Miss. – In preparation for the 2017 season, Mississippi State soccer coach Tom Anagnost announced a pair of additions to his staff.
Brandon DeNoyer joins the Bulldogs as a volunteer assistant after spending six seasons as the top assistant coach at Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., where he helped guide the Saints to the 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title. He holds a United States Soccer Federation D license, as well as regional, national, and advanced national diplomas from United Soccer Coaches (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America).
"Brandon is great person who is eager and hungry to be the best he can be," Anagnost said. "He is a good communicator who cares about the players and wants what is best for the team. To get such an experienced Division I first assistant for this position is incredible, and we are all very happy he is here with us."
At Siena, DeNoyer was heavily involved in the program, from recruiting, practice preparation and talent evaluation to team travel arrangements and the program's day-to-day operations. He also was responsible for the primary training of the goalkeepers.
Anagnost also named former University of Florida soccer player Betsy Middleton as coordinator of soccer operations for the upcoming season.
Middleton played one year at the University of Miami (Fla.) before playing the 2014-16 seasons at UF, where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in psychology.
"We are so excited to have Betsy join us," Anagnost said. "She is the only person we wanted for this position and we are all so happy she has joined us. We have known Betsy since high school, so she is family for our staff. She is a fantastic person who is extraordinarily smart, hard working and thorough in whatever she does. She is an excellent role model for our players because she has already successfully done what they are currently trying to do."
Middleton will assist with the marketing of MSU's soccer camps in addition to making sure the Bulldog soccer program has what it needs to be successful at home and on the road.
Bulldogs Ready For Tune-Up At No. 7 Florida
One of the nation's perennial powers awaits the Bulldogs in the first exhibition of the season.
The seventh-ranked Florida Gators will welcome Anagnost's squad to Gainesville on Wednesday in what the Bulldogs' first-year coach sees as a good preseason test for his first MSU squad.
"In order to be the best you have to play the best," Anagnost said. "Florida is always one of the best teams in the country every year. They have fantastic players and incredible coaches. We scheduled this exhibition to stretch us and give us an idea of what important things we need to work on."
The Gators return eight starters from last year's squad that reached the third round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament after winning their second-straight Southeastern Conference Tournament title.
MSU's exhibition against Florida will be the first time the Bulldogs have faced an SEC opponent in an exhibition since 2014, when State traveled to Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama.
