Women's Hoops Signee Chloe Bibby Named To Australia U19 National Team

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State women's basketball signee Chloe Bibby will gain additional international experience this summer as she earned a roster spot on the Australia U19 National Team for the FIBA World Cup.
She will be part of the squad as it travels to France for a pre-World Cup tournament before heading to Italy for the July 22-30 FIBA U19 World Cup.
Bibby helped Australia qualify for the event by averaging 14.2 ppg and 5.2 rpg last summer as the Gems went 5-0 and won the FIBA U18 Oceania Championship.
She scored double figures in all five games, including tallying 16 points and eight rebounds in the gold medal-winning performance against New Zealand. Bibby helped her country to the title game with back-to-back 15-point efforts in victories against Fiji and New Caledonia
The Warracknabeal, Victoria, native also played for Australia's U17 squad in the Czech Republic, tallying 7.1 ppg and 4.6 rpg as the Sapphires finished fifth.
Bibby is currently playing for the Bendigo Braves in the South East Australian Basketball League, averaging a league 12th-most 18.6 ppg to go with 7.5 rpg.
She joins a group of Bulldog newcomers that includes three-time Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year Myah Taylor; Terry, Miss., all-state standout Nyah Tate, FSCAA/NJCAA Region 8 All-State selection Jonika Garvin and Arkansas all-state guard Bre'Amber Scott.
The class, ranked 19th nationally, joins a Mississippi State squad that compiled a 34-5 overall record and finished second place in the Southeastern Conference with a 13-3 mark. Vic Schaefer's squad capped the season with a trip to the national title game in the program's first Final Four appearance.
