- Mitch Moreland has been hot for the Boston Red Sox over the last week, collecting seven hits and blasting homers in three consecutive games for a .368 clip. Moreland leads the team in home runs, slugging percentage, OBPS and shares the lead for RBIs.
- Hunter Renfroe knocked his first-career triple on Wednesday, bringing home two runners in the Padres' 7-4 win against Atlanta.
- Brent Rooker is off to a hot start in his first five games for the Elizabethton Twins, batting .319 with two home runs and four RBIs. On Sunday, Rooker went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double and two RBIs.
- After signing with the Oakland Athletics, Ryan Gridley made his professional debut on Monday for the Vermont Lake Monsters and collected two RBIs. Two days later, Vermont visited the Staten Island Yankees, for whom Cody Brown made his professional debut in a pinch running situation while taking over second base duties.
- In the past week, two Diamond Dawgs were called up from the Midwest League (Class A Full Season) to the Florida State League (Class A Advanced). Jacob Robson was assigned to the Lakeland Flying Tigers a week ago, while Nathaniel Lowe was assigned to the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Tuesday.
- Zac Houston threw two no-hit relief appearances for the West Michigan Whitecaps this week, totaling 4.0 innings and eight strikeouts.
