Fresh off winning the Oklahoma City Regional championship and advancing to the Final Four, the national finalist MSU women's basketball team will cap the season with its awards banquet April 18.
Hail State Hoops To Host Awards Banquet April 18

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Fans can join the national finalist Mississippi State women's basketball team in celebrating its historic run to the Final Four at the team's annual Hail State Hoops awards banquet on Tuesday, April 18.
The event will once again be held at The Mill Conference Center at Mississippi State beginning at 6 p.m. Cost for the event is $25 per person, and fans can call the MSU women's basketball office at (662) 325-0198 or e-mail dbrown@athletics.msstate.edu to RSVP.
The deadline to RSVP is Friday, April 14.
In addition to handing out team awards, head coach Vic Schaefer, his staff and players will recap the best season in program history, one that saw the Bulldogs set program bests with 34 overall wins and 13 SEC wins.
The Bulldogs won 20-plus games for the fourth-straight year while finishing second in the SEC standings. After advancing to a second-straight SEC Tournament title game, MSU defeated Troy and DePaul in Humphrey Coliseum to earn the program's third Sweet 16 appearance.
Schaefer's squad didn't stop there, however, as it defeated Washington to claim the program's first trip to the Elite Eight. MSU defeated top-seed Baylor to win the Oklahoma City regional championship and punch the program's inaugural trip to the Final Four.
Mississippi State drew No. 1 overall seed Connecticut in the national semifinals, and the Bulldogs recorded one of the biggest upsets in basketball history, knocking off the four-time defending champion Huskies 66-64 in overtime to land a spot in the national championship game.
The win against UConn also snapped the Huskies' record 111-game win streak and gave Mississippi State's senior class of Ketara Chapel, Dominique Dillingham, Chinwe Okorie and Breanna Richardson a program-best 111-career victories.
State also made more history at the turnstiles, as it averaged a school-record and nation's seventh-most 6,641 fans per game. The Bulldogs also drew four of the top five crowds in program history this season, including a second-best 10,500 for the regular-season finale.
