MSU Finishes Final Round Of Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Strong

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Showing her senior leadership again Sunday, Jessica Peng paced the Mississippi State women's golf team to it's best round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate with a 298 on the day. The Bulldogs finished the event with a three-day total of 914, and in 16th place.
Jumping 19 spots from Saturday, Peng finished tied for 27th with a 1-over 72.
Starting on the back nine, she opened her day with a quick birdie, followed by two others on holes 1 and 5. The Taiwan native ended the three-day event with a 222.
Ella Grimwood shaved five strokes off of her second round total, firing a 73 highlighted with two birdies coming on the 16th and 5th. Grimwood started the day slow, shooting two-over par on her first nine holes, but moved on to shoot even par on the final nine. The freshman ended the event tied for 53rd with a 54-hole total 228.
Katie Holt regrouped today and got back nine strokes from her second round total, firing a 76.
Athena Yang notched a 77, while Ji Eun Baik fired an 81.
The Bulldogs will return to South Carolina at the end of March to compete in the Clemson Invitational March 31- April 2.
