STARKVILLE, Miss. – Jessica Peng has been one of Mississippi State's most consistent players early this spring, and the Bulldogs will be counting on her again this week at the sixth annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island.
The 54-hole tournament will take place at the Pete Dye Course at Long Cove Club March 3-5 and will feature some of the top female collegiate golf programs in the country.
This year's field will include 17 teams from across the country, and the Bulldog's toughest filed so far, including 10 ranked in the Top 25. No. 5 Alabama, No. 9 Georgia, No. 11 South Carolina, No. 13 Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Tennessee and Vanderbilt are among the teams from the SEC competing.
This past week Peng was named the SEC golfer of the week, and is currently ranked as the 25th best golfer in the SEC. She opened spring play by taking medalist honors at the UCF Challenge.
