STARKVILLE, Miss. – To begin 2017 Southeastern Conference play, the 33rd-ranked Mississippi State women's tennis team (7-1) hosts the sixth-ranked Auburn Tigers (16-1) on Friday. The match is slated for a 3 p.m. CT start time at MSU's A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.

The Bulldogs are looking to extend a five-match win streak after downing defending Sun Belt champion Georgia State 6-1 on Saturday in Atlanta. After dropping the doubles point, MSU rallied back to win all six singles matches in straight sets.
Senior Jasmine Lee and freshman Lisa Marie Rioux team up to compose the nation's eighth-ranked doubles tandem. The duo has posted a 7-1 dual match record at the No. 1 position and are 15-2 overall.
Looking to keep her dual match singles records spotless, the rookie Rioux sports an undefeated record at 7-0 in her initial campaign as a Bulldog, playing primarily at the No. 2 and 3 positions. Fellow newcomer Sara Lizariturry is also perfect thus far this spring, with a 5-0 dual mark, mainly at the No. 5 spot.
State's All-American Lee, ranked No. 73 at present, heads up the Bulldog lineup at No. 1 with a 7-1 record. Junior Madison Harrison and sophomore Anastasia Rentouli both hold four-match winning streaks heading into Friday's contest. Juniors Jennifer Brown and Khrystyna Vozniak round out the lineup for the Bulldogs with a combined 3-1 record in limited action thus far this spring.
Auburn enters Friday on a nine-match win streak after being crowned champions of the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic this past weekend in Montgomery, Ala.
In singles, the Tigers are led by 36th-ranked Alizee Michaud with a 15-1 dual match mark and No. 99 Taylor Russo with a 10-0 record in team competition. The two also combine to form the nation's 15th-ranked doubles tandem with a 10-1 dual match record at the No. 1 position.
