Children's of Mississippi Kid Coach of the Week: Makinzie Jackson

Kid Coach is a partnership between Children's of Mississippi and the Mississippi State Bulldogs to honor pediatric patients and celebrate their inspirational stories. This week, our Children's of Mississippi Kid Coach is Makinzie Jackson of Greenville.
Makinzie was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia as a newborn. Â Now seven years old, she's been traveling to Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson every month for blood transfusion therapy. The life-saving transfusions help lower the risk of complications from the disease. She's comfortable getting treatments at Children's because she's made friends with other patients and feels like everyone there knows her.
Makenzie loves to dance, cheer, and ride her scooter and bike. She also loves playing with her friends and cousins.
