STARKVILLE, Miss. - Week 16 of the NFL season has come to a close, and it is time to take a look at how the 15 former Bulldogs who have gone #FromStateToSundays fared.
A pair of former Bulldogs, Darius Slay and Fletcher Cox, were named to this season's Pro Bowl. It is Cox's third straight Pro Bowl, while Slay was honored for the first time in his career. Slay also was awarded NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Week 15.
Preston Smith continued his defensive dominance from Week 15, collecting two sacks and forcing a fumble as Washington allowed just 11 points to Denver.
Coming back from injury in Week 15, K.J. Wright showed his eagerness to come back and make a difference in the Seahawks defense -- And he did. Wright gave the Cowboys offense trouble all afternoon on Sunday, grabbing his first interception since 2012 and knocking down two more passes as Seattle won 21-12 and kept their playoff hopes alive. Adding five tackles to his season total on Sunday, Wright has earned 100 tackles in each of the last five seasons.
In a Christmas version of Monday Night Football, Fletcher Cox and Philadelphia defeated Denico Autry, Gabe Jackson and Oakland in a close defensive battle. Autry recorded a sack, but Cox and the Eagles won the day and clinched home field advantage through the playoffs.
On Sunday, Green Bay signed offensive lineman Dillon Day from the Denver Broncos' practice squad.
