STARKVILLE, Miss. – A win against No. 9 Oregon capped a successful Wednesday for the Mississippi State women's basketball team.

Prior to knocking off the ninth-ranked Ducks 90-79, Mississippi State found out it capped the fall semester with a school-record 3.40 grade-point average.

State had 12 players earn 3.00 or higher GPAs, led by Jordan Danberry, Roshunda Johnson, Nyah Tate and Myah Taylor who all claimed Top Dawg honors with 4.00 GPAs.

"I want to compliment my team on having a 3.40 GPA this semester," Vic Schaefer said following Wednesday's win. "Twelve of our players had a 3.00 or better, and four student-athletes had a 4.00. I'm really proud of this team for their commitment both in the classroom and on the court."

Blair Schaefer, Chloe Bibby, Morgan William, Zion Campbell, Jonika Garvin, Jazzmun Holmes, Bre'Amber Scott and Victoria Vivians were all named to the Bulldog Honor Roll by claiming a 3.00 or higher.

The fall semester cumulative GPA bettered the previous mark set in Spring 2016.

William and former Bulldog Ketara Chapel earned their MSU degrees during Dec. 8 commencement ceremonies.
