Women’s Hoops No. 7 In AP Poll Heading To Cancun Challenge

STARKVILLE, Miss. – A 3-0 start to the 2017-2018 season kept Mississippi State women's basketball at No. 7 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
MSU claimed a 58th-straight week in the poll, the seventh-longest active streak in the nation. The Bulldogs have been in the Top 10 for 22 consecutive weeks, the fifth-best current run in the country.
The Bulldogs remained in the No. 7 spot following a 106-50 win against Georgia State last Thursday and a 91-56 victory against in-state foe Southern Miss on Sunday.
Mississippi State recorded its 25th-straight regular-season, non-conference win behind a career-high 29 points from senior Roshunda Johnson. Four other Bulldogs joined her in double figures – Teaira McCowan with 17 points, Victoria Vivians with 15 and Chloe Bibby and Blair Schaefer with 10 points each.
Sunday's win wrapped a season-opening, three-game homestand for Vic Schaefer's Bulldogs. MSU heads to Cancun, Mexico, for the Cancun Challenge. On Thanksgiving Day, the Bulldogs face an Arizona State team that entered this week's poll at No. 24.
