PENSACOLA, Fla. – Another day, another straight-set triumph for Mississippi State's Giovanni Oradini on Sunday at the 2017 Pensacola Futures, a USTA event.

The sophomore standout earned a spot in the final round of qualifying action by cruising to a solid 6-2, 6-2 victory against Sid Donarski of Canada. Oradini will face Jamaica's Rowland Phillips (ATP 1476) at 10 a.m. on Monday. Should Oradini win Monday, he'll join State's third-seeded Nuno Borges in the singles main draw which begins Tuesday.

MSU's freshman Florian Broska's run in qualifying ended Sunday after a pair of impressive victories that got him there, as the freshman dropped a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4 decision to Spain native and South Florida standout Alberto Barroso-Campos (ATP 1290).

Next Up For MSU…

After returning from Pensacola, State will turn its attention to a challenging spring schedule, which opens on Jan. 14 at home against UAB.
