STARKVILLE, Miss. — Nearly a month after being named second-team All-SEC by the media, junior guard Quinndary Weatherspoon was named first team by the league coaches on Friday.
For the Canton, Miss., native, it's his fifth recognition by the SEC in his two years.
"I'm always appreciative of any honor," said Weatherspoon, who made the All-Freshman team before making the preseason and postseason teams as a sophomore. "It's always a goal. I'll work hard to live up to the expectations with another goal of making this team in March."
Weatherspoon, who is also on the Jerry West Shooting Guard watch list, led MSU in scoring last year with his 16.5 clip. For his career, he has 849 points, the fourth-most by an active player in the SEC, while his 92 steals are third most.
