
Bulldogs' Oradini Still Alive In Consolation At ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla. – With Giovanni Oradini advancing in the consolation bracket, Mississippi State is still alive in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships' consolation draw after Friday competition.
State's lone remaining competitor in Tulsa is Oradini in the consolation singles draw. The sophomore had a quick day in the first round of the draw, advancing to Saturday's round of 16 when Kentucky's ninth-ranked William Bushamuka withdrew due to injury. The sophomore lefty will face Texas A&M's 93rd-ranked Valentine Vacherot at 11:30 a.m. in Saturday's round of 16.
State's second-ranked Nuno Borges, the No. 2 seed, was upset by No. 33 Eduardo Mena of Tennessee Tech 6-3, 6-4 in the second round Friday afternoon.
In doubles, State's seventh-ranked doubles tandem of Niclas Braun and Trevor Foshey, a 5-8 seed, were upended in a three-setter - 6-4, 3-6, 1-0(3) – by 31st-ranked Mitch Harper and Henrik Korsgaard of Virginia Tech in the round of 16.

HOUSTON – A pair of MSU rookies will retake the court on Saturday, as freshmen Florian Broska and Hunter Harrison will play in the Texas Tamale Company Houston Cup—a USTA Futures event, beginning Saturday.
Broska enters the tournament with a solid 4-2 record after downing Troy's Antonio Selma in the pre-qualifying consolation draw at the ITA All-American Championships on Sunday.
Harrison is looking to bounce back after dropping a pair of tough battles in ITA All-American pre-qualifying play.
