Vic Schaefer and Morgan William have been invited to represent No. 4 Mississippi State at Women's Basketball National Media Day at ESPN on Thursday.
Schaefer, William To Attend National Media Day At ESPN

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Vic Schaefer and Morgan William head to ESPN studios in Bristol, Conn., Thursday as the pair was selected to represent Mississippi State at the third annual Women's Basketball National Media Day.
The day will see the Bulldogs' sixth-year head coach and senior point guard appear on shows such as SportsCenter Live and the Around The Rim Podcast. Schaefer will also participate in a coaches one-on-one segment, while William, a preseason All-SEC selection, will do one-on-one sit-down interviews with Holly Rowe and Rebecca Lobo.
Schaefer and William will also speak with national and regional media in attendance, and more content from the day will be available on espnW.
The pair was invited following a historic campaign that saw MSU win a school-record 34 games en route to advancing to the national championship game in the program's first Final Four appearance. This year's Bulldogs return nine players from that squad and were tabbed No. 4 in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll after being picked to finish second in the SEC by league media.
William averaged a personal-best 10.9 ppg a year ago, including 9.5 ppg in SEC contests. The Birmingham, Ala., native set the school single-season assists record with 181. She was named Most Outstanding Player of the Oklahoma City Regional following a 41-point performance against Baylor. She was also selected to the All-Final Four Team after averaging 10.5 points and 5.0 assists and hitting the winning shot in MSU's historic upset of UConn.
She enters her final season in Maroon & White tops in program annals in career assists with 480 and 21st in scoring with 1,082 points. She also paces MSU in career free-throw percentage with an 84.3 percent tally that is ninth in conference history.

The Bulldogs officially open 2017-18 at 8 p.m. on Nov. 10 against Virginia in the second half of a doubleheader with the MSU men's squad. A special Final Four banner raising ceremony will be held between games.
