Mallory Eubanks earned MSU's first-ever SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor in addition to being one of a program-record three All-SEC selections
Eubanks Named MSU's First SEC Scholar-Athlete Of The Year; Perez, Waldner Also Honored

STARKVILLE, Miss. – A program-record three members of the Mississippi State soccer program earned SEC postseason honors, the league announced on Sunday.
Mallory Eubanks made MSU soccer history by becoming the first Bulldog to be named SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year after compiling a 3.91 GPA as a kinesiology major spanning her college career.
In addition, the Lexington, Ky., native was named Second Team All-SEC for the second-straight year after leading the Bulldogs for the fourth consecutive year with a career-high 6 assists, eighth-most in the league. Eubanks is the first Bulldog to earn back-to-back All-SEC honors since Elisabeth Sullivan (2012 & 2013) and just the third in program history to accomplish the feat. The three-time team captain has been one of the best to ever don the Maroon and White, sitting second in program history in career assists (17).
Catalina Perez cemented herself as the SEC's top goalkeeper by being State's first All-SEC First Team selection and first Bulldog goalkeeper tabbed to the all-conference list since 2003 (Luisa Marzotto). She is also MSU's third first-team selection in program history. Perez anchored a Bulldog defense that wrapped the regular season in the top half of the conference in nearly every defensive category while ranking third in the league with a career-best 61 saves.
This also marked the second-straight week Perez was recognized for her outstanding efforts on the field, as she was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week after allowing just one goal and hauling in a combined 10 saves in matches against Georgia (Oct. 19) and Ole Miss (Oct. 22). Perez's performance at Georgia was one of the best outings for the goalkeeper as she kept UGA off the board for her fifth clean sheet of the season and tallied six spectacular saves.
MaKayla Waldner joined Eubanks as a second-team All-SEC selection. The sophomore forward was one of the Bulldogs' most effective offensive threats, tying for the team lead with eight goals. She also ranked among the SEC's best in multiple offensive categories, including fourth in goals scored and goals per game.
With Perez, Eubanks and Waldner being selected, State now has 13 All-SEC selections all-time.
Next Up For MSU…
The Bulldogs will wait to see if their season will continue on Monday, Nov. 6, when the selections for the NCAA Tournament will be announced. The 64-team tournament begins on Friday, Nov. 10.
