
Women's Hoops Climbs Back To No. 4 In USA Today Coaches Poll

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State climbed back to No. 4 in Tuesday's USA Today Coaches Poll.
A 71-61 win against Texas A&M on Sunday, coupled with South Carolina's loss to Tennessee, moved the Bulldogs back into the No. 4 spot after a week at No. 5.
State earned its 49th-straight week in the USA Today Top 25. That run includes nine weeks in a row in the Top 5 and 13 straight in the Top 10.
Sunday's win improved MSU to 21-1 overall and 7-1 in SEC play. The Bulldogs' 21 victories are the most in the conference this season and tied for the most in the nation.
Vic Schaefer's squad claimed the victory in front of a crowd of 7,780, the third-largest in school history.
State is the highest ranked of the SEC teams in the poll. South Carolina fell to No. 6, while Tennessee moved into the poll at No. 25.
The Maroon and White returns to action Thursday, traveling to Auburn for an 8 p.m. tip on the SEC Network. The Bulldogs head to Auburn having won a program-best nine road games this season. That total is tied for second-most in the country on the year.
Following the road tilt on "The Plains," the Bulldogs return home Sunday to host Missouri. Fans are encouraged to wear white for the 1:30 p.m. tip on ESPNU.
