January 24, 2017 | Men's Basketball
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Coming off back-to-back losses against Kentucky and Tennessee, Mississippi State returns to the court Wednesday against Missouri looking to get back into the win column.
Tip at Humphrey Coliseum is set for 6 p.m. CT, with Tom Hart and Daymeon Fishback handling the SEC Network broadcast. The game can also be heard on the MSU radio network with veterans Jim Ellis and Richard Williams on the call.
MSU stands at 12-6 on the season, 3-3 in league play following the 91-74 setback at Tennessee. Freshman forward Schnider Herard recorded his first-career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Tigers enter the contest 5-13, 0-6, following their 75-71 loss at home to Ole Miss on Saturday.
CANCER AWARENESS
Staffs from both teams on Wednesday will wear special sneakers for The Coaches vs. Cancer program, which empowers coaches, their teams and communities to join the fight against cancer by participating in awareness efforts, advocacy programs, and fundraising activities to help people with cancer today and to find cures.
One of the programs through the American Cancer Society is the 3-Point Challenge, where fans can donate for every 3-point shot MSU makes during the month of February.

THE SERIES
Tennessee leads the all-time series 80-42, but MSU has won two out of the last three in Knoxville.
COACHES
Ben Howland is in his second year at MSU and 21st overall. As a head coach in four different stops, he is 427-229 with a 26-23 mark with the Bulldogs.
Kim Anderson is in his third year at Missouri and owns a 24-57 ledger. Overall, he's 298-152 in 15 years.
QUOTABLE
"I thought the best thing he did in the game was defensive rebound. He did a good job scoring in the post, but he has to be better for us defensively. He is still playing too erect. He is still learning how to play knees bent defensively. He is getting better at that, and he started to cramp during the game. We need him to be playing really hard and getting better." — MSU coach Ben Howland on Schnider Herard.
