September 16, 2016 | Football
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State Athletics is paying tribute to its current active NFL Bulldogs this season with digital billboards in their respective NFL cities on home game weekends.
Nearly every NFL gameday this season, a new "From State to Sundays, Family" billboard will run in various locations of that city. Fullback Malcolm Johnson of the Cleveland Browns is featured this Sunday on six different billboards in Cleveland. His Browns host the Baltimore Ravens at noon CT live on CBS.
The Johnson billboards can be seen all day and night Sunday at the following downtown Cleveland locations:
Ontario Street (South bound)
Carnegie Avenue (East bound)
Carnegie Avenue (West bound)
Lorain Avenue (West bound)
West Third Street (North bound)
East 14th Street (North bound)
Johnson, who played tight end at State from 2011-14, was a leader on the memorable 2014 squad that reached the No. 1 national ranking for the first time in State history. The team appeared in its first Orange Bowl since 1941 and tied a school record with 10 victories.
Last Sunday, MSU featured Dak Prescott with digital billboards throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Prescott became the first Bulldog to start at quarterback in an NFL game since 1979.
A total of 11 Bulldogs are currently on active NFL rosters, including eight who started Week 1. Another two are on injured reserve and six others are on practice squads. All 19 of them played for Dan Mullen at State.
