Five Bulldogs Selected for NFF Hampshire Honor Society

IRVING, Texas - The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Football Hall of Fame announced its 2026 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which included five Mississippi State football players from the 2026 team.
Mississippi State is represented in the 2026 NFF Hampshire Honor Society by Wesley Davis, Jacoby Jackson, Ethan Myers, Blake Shapen and Brennan Smith.
The 2026 class includes a record 2,596 players from 365 colleges and universities. Since 2007, the program has recognized 23,568 student-athletes from 691 schools, demonstrating sustained academic performance across the game.
Members are nominated by their respective schools and must meet the following criteria:

2026 marks the 20th year of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society, arguably the most comprehensive scholar-athlete initiative nationwide for college football players.
2,596 honorees (all-time single-year record for membership)
365 schools represented
49/50 states represented* and the District of Columbia (*Alaska does not have an eligible collegiate football program)
3.57 average GPA
26% have served as a captain
1,251 offensive players
1,089 defensive players
256 special teams players
Six (6) divisions of football represented (FBS, FCS, Division II, Division III, NAIA, Sprint)

Members are nominated by their respective schools and must meet the following criteria:
- A senior player graduating this spring/summer who completed his final season of eligibility in 2025; or
- A graduate player or grad transfer who has already earned a bachelor's degree and competed in the 2025 season
- Maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale)
- Been a starter or significant contributor during the 2025 season
