Sarah Hulett Q&A
Q: When did you start playing soccer and who got you involved in the sport?
A: "I started playing when I was younger because it was just one of the sports my parents let me try and I liked how active it was."
Q: You played softball growing up too, why did you choose soccer in the end?
A: "Nothing against softball, but there is a lot of standing and I just like running and being active and always moving. That's one reason why I played catcher when I played softball, because I wanted to be apart of every play."
Q: How did you adjust being the "new" person last year?
A: "I started off being really quiet because I was really scared and intimidated coming in unfit and not prepared technically due to me joining so late, but my teammate's were really encouraging and I grew really close to some of the girls quicker than I thought. I also invited myself to a lot of people's apartments and pretty much made them be friends with me."
Q: How's it feel to be a senior?
A: "It feels so weird, but it's way different being a senior in college than in high school, because I'm about to go off into the real world, not just to school for another four years."
Q: What's the difference of this team compared to last year's team?
A: "This year's team is different due to a majority of the team being returners and full of people that experienced last year's season's of tough losses and rewarding wins. We know what it's like to win big games and lose big ones too, so I think it'll help us know how to play and get focused and approach big games."
Q: What kind of training style do you guys go through?
A: "The training is very intense and involves a lot of speed. We're all competing for spots and the coaches know that so they like when we push each other and compete in certain drills. We also make it fun, because it makes practices more enjoyable when you're laughing with your teammates."
Q: What are you guys hoping to accomplish this season?
A: "I'm hoping to accomplish team goals and personal goals. Team wise I hope we make it to the SEC Tournament and make a statement for ourselves throughout the season. Personal goals, I just want to be able to make an impact on the team in whatever way I can."
Q: Describe your teammates and what they mean to you?
A: "My teammates are incredible. They're a perfect mix of funny, quiet, loving and just straight up weird (shout out to Mallory Eubanks). I have a blast with whatever teammate I spend time with."
