Bulldogs sign Italian product for the spring season
Bulldogs Add Italian Lefty Giovanni Oradini

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Head coach Matt Roberts unveiled his latest recruiting gem on Tuesday with the announcement of Italian standout Giovanni Oradini, who is set to join the Mississippi State men's tennis team in January.
"We're excited to add Gio to our team this spring," Roberts said. "He's had a great run on the junior circuit and will bring a wealth of experience to our lineup. Our goals and his align perfectly, because he wanted to go somewhere he could develop his game for the professional circuit and that's what we specialize in here at MSU."
The Rovereto, Italy native, has played exceptionally well as of late, qualifying for three out of his last four futures events while defeating numerous top 1000 ranked foes. His most recent qualification was at the Italy F27 Futures event on Aug. 28 in Trieste, Italy.
"I was very impressed with the interest the Mississippi State coaching staff showed in me," Oradini said. "They're a hard-working team and very professional. That's what I am looking for in a team because I want to become a great tennis player. MSU has one of the best programs in the country and I'm looking forward to becoming a Bulldog in the spring."
Oradini posted a career-high 1680 ranking in doubles on the ITF Pro Circuit, while also boasting a career-best 1636 in doubles play. Over his career on the ITF circuit, the incoming freshman has earned five main draw wins in doubles while racking up one semifinal and two quarterfinal finishes.
The 6-foot-2 lefty produced a solid resume as a junior as well, earning a career high ranking of 171 in the world.
The Bulldogs begin fall action on Sept. 23-25 as the Maroon and White compete at the Southern Intercollegiate in Athens, Ga.
