
MSU Once Again Among Tops In Final NCAA Attendance Rankings

STARKVILLE, Miss. – For the second-straight year, Mississippi State has finished among the nation's best in women's basketball attendance.
The Bulldogs claimed a program attendance record for the third-straight season, finishing 15th in the nation with 92,914.
MSU averaged 5,162 fans at Humphrey Coliseum for 18 home dates, the 16th-best total in the country.
Vic Schaefer's program also claimed the nation's fourth-highest attendance increase for the second-consecutive season, drawing 1,406 more fans per home game than the 2014-15 season.
The Bulldogs' record numbers at the turnstiles helped the Southeastern Conference set a league record with 1,108,511 fans for the season.
The 2015-16 season saw Mississippi State claim nine of the program's Top 20 attendance marks, including a program-record 10,626 for a Jan. 24 contest against South Carolina.
That total, fourth-most in Humphrey Coliseum history, ranks as the largest in the state of Mississippi to watch a women's basketball game.
Mississippi State wrapped the year one of 11 teams in the nation to draw a home crowd of 10,600 or larger.
The Bulldogs enjoyed another historic season, winning a program-best 28 games en route to earning the program's second NCAA Sweet 16 berth.
Schaefer's squad matched the school record with 11 SEC wins but claimed the best finish with a tie for second.
State advanced to the SEC Tournament championship game for the second time and earned its first opportunity to host the NCAA Tournament First and Second Rounds.
