Jacob Robson Named 2016 Hammer Strength All-American

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Jacob Robson has been named a 2016 Hammer Strength All-American, the organization announced Thursday.
Hammer Strength is a leading supplier of performance strength equipment, and presents the honor in partnership with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa).
To be considered as a Hammer Strength All-American, athletes were judged on their personal qualities and achievements in terms of work ethic, leadership, consistency and academic performance.
"With the Hammer Strength All-American Award, we recognize and celebrate collegiate athletes who lead the way in superior performance, both on and off the court," said Chris Clawson, president, Life Fitness.
Robson is a team captain who provides vital leadership to a squad that won its first SEC Championship in 27 years. His .335 batting average is the fourth best mark on the team, while he has also been named MSU Baseball's Lifter of the Year on two separate occasions during his four-year career. He owns a team-best 6.3 second 60 yard dash, while being able to squat 455lbs and deadlift 525 lbs.
"He is an incredible leader with an extraordinary work ethic and vision to be the best," said Brian Neal, MSU Director of Strength and Conditioning. "His success is no accident. He makes everyone around him better with his approach to training."
Robson and his teammates take the field again Friday at 5 p.m. in Super Regional action against the Arizona Wildcats, needing just two wins to advance to the program's 10th College World Series.
