
Thomas Berkery, Jeffrey Rea named to SEBaseball.com's All-SEC team

Berkery finished the regular season with an SEC-leading .393 battingaverage. The senior shortstop from Sarasota, Fla., set a school record witha 30-game hitting streak, the fifth-longest in SEC history, and had at leastone hit in 49 of his 54 games played.
Rea, a junior second baseman from Nettleton, Miss., led Mississippi Stateand tied for third in the Southeastern Conference with 85 hits, four off theleague lead. His .360 overall batting average was the fifth-highest in theSEC and his .402 batting average in conference play was the SEC'ssecond-highest.
Berkery and Rea were instrumental in Mississippi State leading theSoutheastern Conference with 66 doubles plays in 2006.
SEC co-champion Kentucky placed three players on SEBaseball's all-conference firstteam and UK head coach John Cohen was selected SEC coach of the year.
