MSU - Eastern Illinois Series Finale Rained Out

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State's Sunday afternoon baseball series finale with Eastern Illinois has been cancelled due to rain. The game will not be rescheduled, but a game will be added to the MSU schedule to replace the Sunday rainout of the MSU-Eastern Illinois game.
The 17th-ranked Bulldogs (2-0) claimed both games in the first-ever series with the Panthers (0-5), claiming a closely-contested 3-1 victory Friday and hammering out 20 hits in a 16-6 win Saturday. Mississippi State continues its season-opening home stand Tuesday, taking on Mississippi Valley State at 3 p.m. MSU then welcomes Kansas and Austin Peay to Dudy Noble Field March 4-6 for the fifth annual National Bank of Commerce Classic.
MSU baseball season ticket holders are asked to retain their tickets for Sunday's cancelled game. Those Game 3 tickets will be valid for entrance at a makeup game to be announced later.
