Bulldogs Among NCAA's 10 Best In ERA, Defense

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State has earned NCAA Baseball Division I top 10 ranking in a pair of statistical categories in the first rankings released this season by the NCAA.
Through games of April 13, MSU ranks sixth in team earned run average with a 2.75 ERA. Mississippi State is one of nine teams with a sub-3.00 team ERA. top-ranked Rice leads the national listing with a 2.22 ERA.
The Diamond Dogs also rank eighth nationally in fielding percentage with a .977 fielding mark. Again, Rice leads the listing with a .986 team fielding percentage. MSU has played error-free baseball in 15 of 35 games.
