Two Lady Bulldogs Selected As Preseason All-Americans By WomensCollegeHoops.com

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The first batch of the preseason All-America accolades have been released and senior LaToya Thomas has been selected to the first team and sophomore Tan White is an honorable mention All-America by WomensCollegeHoops.com
Joining Thomas on the first team are Diana Taurasi (Uconn), Alana Beard (Duke), Chantelle Anderson (Vanderbilt) and Nicole Powell (Standford).

She led the SEC in scoring at the end of the season posting on average 24.6 ppg and earned second place in the nation for that mark.
Thomas now holds the most career points by a Bulldog player, including both men and women players, with 2,187 points after her junior season. She passed former Bulldog Jeff Malone (1979-1983) who held 2,142 career points and Lady Bulldog LaCharlotte Smith who accumulated 1,533 career points from 1992-96.
White, the 2002 AP SEC Newcomer of the Year, earned her share of honors after the 2001-02 season. For her freshman year campaign she was named to the All-SEC first team, AP All-SEC second team, WomensCollegeHoops.com first team freshman All-America and once named SEC Player of the Week.

The Lady Bulldogs completed last season with a 19-12 overall record and finished tied for fourth in the SEC with an 8-4 conference record. MSU enjoyed its fifth-straight postseason appearance, third NCAA appearance under Fanning and in MSU history last year, losing in the second round to Texas Tech 77-55.
