Browne, Crabbe Advance To The 100M Semifinals At NCAA Outdoors

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Mississippi State senior Dion Crabbe and junior Pierre Browne advanced to the semifinals in the 100 meters Thursday on day two of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
However, freshman Tiffany McWilliams will not advance to the finals of the 1500 meters, after ranking 17th in the preliminaries.
Browne won the first heat of the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 10.25 and assuring himself of a spot in the semifinals. Crabbe came in sixth in his heat and 13th overall with a time of 10.37.
McWilliams placed seventh in the first heat of the 1500m with a time of 4:27.09. The freshman from Red Bay, Ala., ends her first year at MSU as the school record holder in the 1500 meters outdoors.
Crabbe will start in lane two in the first heat of the semifinals on Friday, while Browne will be in lane six in the second heat.
The Bulldogs have one race on Friday, the semifinals of the 100 meters. That is slated to begin at 7:40 p.m., at Bernie Moore Track Stadium.
