Mississippi State Golfers In Eighth Place At Atlanta Intercollegiate

Auburn, winners of the 2002 Southeastern Conference Championships, holds a four-shot advantage over North Florida after Thursday's play. Florida and Georgia are tied for third place, six shots back. State rebounded from an opening-round 301 to fire a 290 in the afternoon round, moving up from twelfth place to a tie for eighth place with host Georgia State.
Joe Deraney led Mississippi State, firing rounds of 70-73, to sit in a tie for ninth place after two rounds. Codie Mudd is currently tied for 13th after carding identical rounds of even-par 72. Tim Satow followed a 79 with an impressive 71 in the afternoon round to sit tied for 32nd place. Craig Horrocks finished the day tied for 58th and Kellen Maurer is currently tied for 64th place.
The final round of competition will conclude on Friday.
