Fyfe hails from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where she competed at the provincial level in track, alpine and Nordic skiing. At her previous school, Lisgar Collegiate Institue, she was named the girls' track MVP in 2000.
Martin won the NJCAA indoor 60-meter hurdles as a sophomore at Wallace State Community College. He also qualified to run at the World Junior Championships in Santiago, Chile., where he placed ninth in the 110-meter hurdles.
"Martin is one of the premier hurdlers in the country," said Schmidt. "He should score points in both the SECs and NCAAs. We are really pleased to have him."
"We are trying to build a cross country team that will compete for the SEC championship, and she is another big part of that effort."
Fyfe has excelled in her three sports while adding many academic honors to her record. Fyfe has ranked in the top 25 percent of Canada in mathematics for four years. She was also a member of Lisgar's band and jazz band for five years.
Martin holds two Missouri high school records, in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles, set while at Poplar Bluff (Mo.) High School. He received the Missouri Athlete of the Year from the MHSAA his senior season.
Anne Fyfe is the daughter of Toby and Deirdre Fyfe.
