Women's, No. 5 Men's Track Return Home For Jace Lacoste
May 25, 2016 | Track & Field
The men's team, ranked fifth by trackwire.com, return home after an impressive showing at the Texas Relays, where the 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams won in convincing fashions in both races.
Senior Dion Crabbe, junior Pierre Browne, sophomore Marquis Davis and freshman Glenn McFadden will all be in action Saturday in the 200-meter dash. Browne and Davis were all-Americans indoors at the same distance, while Crabbe provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoors in the 200m. McFadden was a high school all-American last year in sprints.
The distance contingent looks to once again lead the women's side for head coach Al Schmidt. Junior Christine Zawaski had a good showing in the 5000 meters in Austin, placing second last weekend. Freshman Tiffany McWilliams, last week's SEC female athlete of the week, also placed high, taking sixth in the 1500 meters.
Field events begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Spencer Stadium/Maddox Track, with the running slated to begin at noon.
