State Men's Tennis Jumps Back Into Top 25
May 25, 2016 | Men's Tennis
State, which had dropped to 42nd in the country after four-straight, and very tight, losses to open the Southeastern Conference season, rebounded this past week with 4-3 upset victories on the road at No. 37 Vanderbilt and No. 4 Kentucky to vault back up in the rankings.
The Bulldogs, now 8-6 overall and 2-4 in the SEC this year, are one of only eight teams in the country to have ended each of the last 13 seasons in the top 25 nationally.
MSU will continue action in the coming week with a three-match homestand against three top 35 foes at MSU's A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre. State will welcome 13th-ranked Tennessee this Friday, March 29th, at 2 p.m. before a battle with top-ranked Georgia this Sunday, March 31st, at 1 p.m. MSU will then have a makeup match with 33rd-ranked Middle Tennessee next Tuesday, April 2, at 2 p.m. as part of Super Bulldog Week activities.
