McFadden Ranks Ninth In Prelims At USATF Champs

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The 16th-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs' highly touted freshman Glenn McFadden ranked ninth in the 200-meters prelims at the United States Track & Field Association Championships Friday.
The high school all-American from New Haven, Conn., ran a 21.89 at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York City. Shawn Crawford ranked first in the preliminaries with a 20.53 mark.
Coach Al Schmidt's athletes will be back in action on Saturday, with senior Elisha Williams competing in the women's long jump and McFadden and sophomore Marquis Davis expected to compete in the 60 meters.
