MSU Wraps Up Exhibition Against TCU

FRISCO, Texas – On a day that was dominated by windy conditions, the Mississippi State soccer team wrapped up its final road exhibition of the season against Texas Christian University on Saturday.
“Today was a good experience for our team who played against a tough opponent in TCU,” head coach Aaron Gordon said. “TCU used the wind to their advantage in the first half, but I thought we responded well afterwards. We're going to use what we've picked up here and carry it over to next Friday.”
TCU found the goal early in the first half for the exhibition's only goal, as the Bulldogs had to fight off the wind and the Horned Frogs early on. MSU would get a few opportunities to score in the second half after nice footwork from Mallory Eubanks placed the ball into TCU territory, but State could not finish.
At goal, Courtney Tompkins played the full length of the exhibition as she saved three shots on the afternoon between the posts.
The Bulldogs again used its bench in full force, as MSU got minutes from 18 players on Saturday. State is now 2-2-2 in the spring slate with one contest remaining.
MSU will now take in the FC Dallas-San Jose MLS match, which will take place at 8 p.m. CT on Saturday night.
After Saturday's festivities, the Bulldogs return home to close out the spring season against Samford on April 15 at 7 p.m. CT.
