STARKVILLE, Miss. – Fans can join the Mississippi State women's basketball team in celebrating a Sweet 16 season at the team's annual Hail State Hoops awards banquet on April 11.
Monday's event will be held at The Mill Conference Center at Mississippi State beginning at 6 p.m. Cost for the event is $25 per person.
Fans are encouraged to RSVP by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 8, by calling the MSU women's basketball office at (662) 325-0198 or emailing dbrown@athletics.msstate.edu.
Mississippi State is coming off another historic season, one that saw Vic Schaefer's fourth edition win a school-record 28 games and advance to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the second time in program history.
The Bulldogs won 20 games in three-straight seasons for the first time and also matched last year's school record with 11 SEC victories, becoming the inaugural State squad to claim double-digit league victories in back-to-back seasons.
MSU also claimed its best league finish with a tie for second while advancing to the SEC Tournament title game for the second time.
Mississippi State punched a ticket to the Sweet 16 after hosting the first and second rounds for the first time and defeating Chattanooga and No. 16 Michigan State.
Playing in front of 12,209 fans, third-most of the first and second round sites, Mississippi State improved to 33-3 the last two seasons at Humphrey Coliseum.
That attendance total brought the Bulldogs to a program-record 92,914 for the season, the 15th-largest total in the nation.
Mississippi State drew 10,626 to its Jan. 24 contest against South Carolina, the largest women's basketball crowd ever in the state of Mississippi and the fourth-largest in Humphrey Coliseum history.
