April 26, 2016 | Baseball
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Fresh off their first series victory against No. 13 LSU since 2006, No. 4 Mississippi State baseball (27-13-1, 10-8 SEC) will travel to Pearl, Mississippi Tuesday night to take on No. 12 Ole Miss (31-10, 10-8 SEC) in a nonconference matchup. The 6:30 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on the SEC Network.
The Diamond Dawgs won their fifth conference series of the year by taking two of three from LSU (12-8, 2-1, 8-11) in Baton Rouge. The Bulldogs have also now won five series against team's ranked 11th or higher. Included in that stretch was a 2 of 3 showing against the then No. 11 Rebels.
Ole Miss just completed a three-game sweep of SEC foe Auburn (6-4, 7-4, 6-5) at Swayze Field.
MSU leads the all-time series against the Rebels 246-205-5, and also lead 31-27-1 at neutral sites. The Rebels took home the Governors Cup last season in an 11-1 contest.
