Special Sweet 16 #HailStateHoops Luncheon Set For Wednesday

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Before Mississippi State heads to Bridgeport, Connecticut, for the Sweet 16 on Saturday, fans can celebrate the accomplishment at a special Hail State Hoops Luncheon on Wednesday.
Wednesday's luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. in Mize Pavilion, with doors opening at 11:15. Cost is $12, and fans who call (662) 325-0198 or email dbrown@athletics.msstate.edu will be entered for the opportunity to win a door prize.
Fans can enjoy a full meal and hear head coach Vic Schaefer recap the SEC Tournament and the opening two rounds of the NCAA Tournament while looking ahead to Saturday's Sweet 16 contest.
Fifth-seed MSU defeated four-seed Michigan State 74-72 at Humphrey Coliseum on Sunday to punch the program's second-ever trip to the Sweet 16.
Hosting NCAA Tournament action for the first time, Mississippi State opened with a 60-50 win against Chattanooga.
The two wins, combined with a run to the SEC Tournament title game earlier in the month, gave the Bulldogs a program-record 28 victories.
Mississippi State also matched the program record with 11 SEC wins while claiming its best league finish with a tie for second.
The Bulldogs had one of the best crowd counts for its first and second round contests, drawing 12,209, an average of 6,104 per game.
The stellar fan support put MSU at a program-record 92,914 for the season, the 14th-best total in the nation.
