
Men?s Track & Field Will End Season On National Stage

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Ending the 2016 indoor track and filed on the national stage, the Mississippi State men's team laces up for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala.
“I'm proud of these athletes on their success and getting to this point of the season,” MSU coach Steve Dudley said. “However, there is still work to be done. We have to go out there and show Mississippi State is here to compete.”
Alfred Larry is no stranger to the national stage, as he competed in the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in both the 400m dash and the 4x400m relay. This time around he will be competing in the same two events.
Larry will be the single competitor the Bulldogs Friday night as he is set to run the 400m dash prelims at 6:55 p.m. CT. Coming into the championships, Larry has the 10th-best time in the nation in the event. He ran a time of 46.13 at the Alex Wilson Invite.
Taking the track for the MSU men's 4x400m relay will be Larry, Juston Waters, Brandon McBride and Rasheed Tatham. Earlier this season the foursome ran a time of 3:06.69 to finish first at the Alex Wilson Invite, qualifying the foursome for nationals. Entering the meet the relay team has the 12th best time in the nation.
Serving as the alternates for the team will be Philip Smith and Charles Taylor.
The relay team will be on the track Saturday night at 6:40 p.m.
