February 09, 2016 | Women's Basketball
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State heads into Thursday's Top-15 showdown at Texas A&M ranked No. 11 in both national polls after the Bulldogs climbed one place in Tuesday's USA TODAY Coaches Poll.
The 32 Division I coaches moved MSU up one spot after State remained at No. 11 in Monday's Associated Press poll.
Vic Schaefer's squad earned a 31st-straight week in the coaches poll after improving to 21-4 overall and 8-3 in SEC play with wins against LSU and No. 21 Missouri last week.
MSU has won four-straight games, and fans can recap that stretch during Wednesday's Hail State Hoops Luncheon in Mize Pavilion. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m., and the $12 cost includes a full meal and hoops talk with Schaefer, his staff and players.
Fans who RSVP by calling (662) 325-0198 or emailing dbrown@athletics.msstate.edu will be entered for the chance to win a door prize.
The Bulldogs took over the No. 11 position after Texas A&M slipped two places to No. 13.
MSU owns the second-highest ranking of the five SEC teams in the poll. South Carolina and Kentucky remained at Nos. 2 and 18, respectively, while Florida climbed three places to No. 19.
Missouri and Tennessee both dropped out of the poll.
Mississippi State returns home Feb. 18, hosting Kentucky at 6 p.m. on the SEC Network.
