Bulldogs Finish Strong in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – Saving the best round for last, the Mississippi State women's golf team closed out the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate at 292 to finished tied 13th after a rain delay on the final hole of the tournament.
“We played great today and posted the fourth lowest score of the round in this Top 3 event in college golf. I am very pleased with that,” MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. “Jessica led the team with a great final round, performing very strong in this All-American field. The rest of the team stepped up to finish strong. We are getting great experience and plan to finish this spring strong.”
Paving the way for the third day in a row was Jessica Peng, who shot a 69. She was very steady throughout her round and finished strong having birdies on three of her last six holes
She finished T7 overall in the event.
Ji Eun Baik was extremely consistent with sixteen pars, one bogey, and a birdie to shoot even par 72.
Izel Pieters improved four shots from the second round by shooting a 74.
Bianca Theron fired a 77.
Elsa Moberly had the second most birdies on the team Tuesday with three en route to an 80.
The Bulldogs will be back in action for Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C., starting March 4-6.
