STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State junior Nathaniel Lowe broke up a 3-3 tie with a two-RBI double in the final inning to lift Maroon to a 6-4 win against Gray Wednesday night at Dudy Noble Field. The six-inning exhibition marked MSU's eighth scrimmage of the preseason.

For Gray, freshman Elih Marrero and junior Reid Humphreys each had two hits, with Marrero doubling and scoring a run and Humphreys driving in a run.
Gray jumped out to a 2-0 run in the first thanks to a sacrifice fly from redshirt freshman Cole Gordon and an RBI single by Humphreys.
The lead was lost in the third when Maroon tied it up with a sacrifice fly by Lowe which plated freshman Brant Blaylock from third and a hustling Mike Smith from second.
After trading runs in the fifth with an RBI double by Lowe and an RBI single by freshman Hunter Stovall, Lowe broke it open in the sixth with a bases-clearing two bagger. Maroon added one more run in the top of the sixth before junior Luke Reynolds gave the game its final score of 6-4 with an RBI single in the bottom of the frame.
