Bulldogs Stay No. 5 In AP Poll, Host Christmas Hail State Hoops Luncheon Tuesday

STARKVILLE, Miss. – A 12-0 start to the season and a Women of Troy Classic title has kept Mississippi State women's basketball No. 5 in the new Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
Fans can come celebrate the perfect start Tuesday at the Bulldogs' annual Christmas Hail State Hoops Luncheon.
The luncheon features a meal and hoops talk with head coach Vic Schaefer and his Bulldogs, but it also features the always-popular Hail State Hoops "12 Days of Christmas."
Cost for the luncheon is $12, and fans can RSVP by calling (662) 325-0198 or e-mailing dbrown@athletics.msstate.edu. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m., with Mize Pavilion doors opening at 11:15.
Schaefer's squad remained in the Top 5 for a third-straight week. It earned its 43rd-consecutive week in the poll, the eighth-longest active streak in the nation.
There will be plenty of Hail State Hoops on Tuesday, as the Bulldogs return to the Humphrey Coliseum court that evening at 7 p.m. against Alabama State.
The contest will be $1 Night, with tickets and hot dogs each costing $1. It will also be Christmas at the Hump, and fans will be able to take pictures with both Santa and the Golden Egg.
Fans are encouraged to bring stuffed teddy bears to the game to throw onto the court at halftime for the first Teddy Bear Toss presented by BancorpSouth. The bears will be collected and distributed to local children via the Salvation Army and Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
