Men’s Tennis Posts Best GPA Among Male Teams At MSU

STARKVILLE, Miss. – After finishing with a 3.38 grade point average overall for the fall semester, the Mississippi State men's tennis team captured the top GPA among MSU male teams for the second semester in a row.
The 3.38 GPA was one notch better than last spring's 3.37.
"Our team takes pride in academics," head coach Matt Roberts said. "I'm very proud of their success in the classroom and happy with how they represent Mississippi State on and off the court."
The Bulldogs had two student athletes finish with perfect 4.0 GPAs for the fall semester, as sophomores Nuno Borges and Strahinja Rakic earned Top Dawg and President's Scholar honors. For Rakic, the Belgrade, Serbia, native has finished each semester at MSU with a 4.0 GPA.
Sophomore Trevor Foshey also turned in a successful semester after earning a 3.75 GPA, which netted him Dean's Scholar honors. Five men's tennis student athletes earned Bulldog Honor Roll distinctions after finishing with at least a 3.00 GPA.

With the semester concluding, head coach Matt Roberts and the Bulldogs are locked in on their season opener in Malibu, Calif., against Pepperdine on Jan. 20 at 3 p.m. CT. After six matches on the road, MSU will return to Starkville for its home opener against Tulane on Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. CT.
